I had first purchased this ring in 14kt yellow gold with Heirloom AAAA rubies. I ended up returning it to exchange for the Best AAA Rubies instead. I found the heirloom rubies too dark and a little dull. . . even in bright lighting. They appeared almost black from from a distance. The new ring arrived today and the best AAA rubies are definitely brighter and more sparkly. I would describe them as close to pigeon blood in color. The band is overall very comfortable on the hand. Doesn't dig or scratch. I look forward to wearing it for many years.
