Q1. Katty, tell us a little bit about your journey as a model and influencer and what you love most about your job.
As a 2-year-old, I dreamt of becoming a ‘mannequin.’ That’s exactly what I thought this profession was called. My first catwalk coach taught me how to walk the runway in a relaxed way, and once I succeeded, she said, “Now you walk like a cat!” That was it! The more I learned, the more I developed self-confidence. I might not be a supermodel today, but I’m happy to be the woman I’ve become. And, there’s nothing more satisfying than doing what I love.
Q2. Minimalist or High Octane Glam: What’s your sense of style and why?
Minimalist fashion is always in style. The beauty of minimalist fashion lies in how versatile and easily wearable it is for people of all sizes. Beautifully constructed, colour-blocked pieces in neutral shades like black, white, beige and brown naturally complement each other and can be worn for pretty much any occasion. And when someone says, “dress fancy,” I just put on my easiest outfit with some big earrings.

Q4. What’s the earliest memory you have of trying on jewellery (fine jewellery or otherwise)?
As a young girl, I loved watching my mom get ready to go out for the evening. I’d sit on her vanity to watch her pick out her jewellery and get all dolled up. She had a story to tell me about every piece of jewellery like where it came from or who gave it to her. These stories rolled into stories about my family too.
Q5. If you could customize a piece of jewellery for yourself, what would it be?
I’m always hypnotized by the beauty of purple gemstones. The Cushion Amethyst Solitaire Ring with Diamond Accents from Angara is a piece of jewellery I’d cherish for a lifetime.

“In a world full of trends, I wish to remain a classic.” It’s about quality over quantity. My mom invests in pieces she plans to hold on to for a lifetime. It’s all about heritage and craftsmanship.
Q8 How do you pick jewellery to match your OOTD?
I ‘live’ in my jewellery. I’m always looking for quality pieces that won’t tarnish (hard to come by these days) and aren’t insanely expensive. Jewellery made of the highest quality materials like genuine diamonds and solid gold. No crazy markups—fair prices are a fair ask! I like to pick pieces that are unique but wearable!
Q9. Tell us your go-to look for when you have “nothing to wear.”
I have clothes but no outfits, I don’t know how to explain it.
