Can you believe it’s been two years since we anxiously awaited the birth of Prince William’s and Duchess Catherine’s first child? The adorable Prince George turns two on July 22nd (Wednesday)! While he is a toddler, he has already made a big impression as a British Royal, a budding fashion trendsetter, a protective brother, and even a public magnet.

To mark this grand occasion, Kensington Palace has released an official photo of the royal toddler grinning in daddy’s arms. “This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George’s second birthday,” said a spokesperson from Kensington Palace.

The photo is part of an official picture series taken by Mario Testino, the internationally renowned fashion photographer, in the garden of Sandringham Palace, following the christening of Princess Charlotte. The Peruvian photographer, among other career highlights, photographed Princess Diana in 1997 for Vanity Fair. He wrote on his Instagram account that he was overwhelmed and honored to be chosen to take portraits of Princess Charlotte’s christening.

George, who is third in line to the throne, has been a huge media attraction since his birth in 2013. Whether his baptism, trip to Australia and New Zealand, or his first Christmas, this little bundle of joy makes headlines. In order to celebrate Prince George’s special birthday, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see how much the future king has grown.

George’s First Play Date

This adorable royal Prince has a sporty spirit. George’s first play date was one of the most searched news during his first official international trip to Australia and New Zealand. While he attracted everyone with his innocence, his cute fashion style left everyone awe-struck, making him one of ’50 best-dressed men in Britain’ in GQ magazine. In fact, several newspapers gushed about ‘George effect’. See more of his iconic photos from his play date and the royal tour here and here.

Like Father Like Son

Prince George is a mirror image of Prince William. This is clearly visible when you see photos from William’s childhood. The photo above shows Prince George and William waving hands to media during their hospital visit to meet his younger sister for the first time.

Elder Brother

Taken by Kate Middleton, this official portrait from the palace shows big brother tenderly holding and kissing little Charlotte. The two-year-old is a doting brother. In a photo from princess’s baptism, he was seen peering adorably into her pram. Check photos here, here and here.

Future King

The British heir marked a milestone in June when he first appeared at his great-grandmother’s official birthday parade. ‘Trooping of Colors’ was the first event when Queen Elizabeth II appeared on the balcony together with three future kings – Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George.

We have this spectacular photo of Prince George released on his first birthday. The photo shows little prince taking his first independent steps.
